The only problem being the fact that MPs enjoy legal privileges in chambers. This of course means that "people" like Blair can talk about an elderly woman's personal medical records in public without her consent.

That's why I put 'deliberately lie'. Blair in my mind has either said things he thought were true (ie not deliberate) or he has been careful not to tell a direct untruth. Politicians are actually very careful not to tell direct lies - Byers is one of the few cases I can think off where someone has deliberately lied without the excuse of national security.
