The latest advert for YSL Opium perfume, featuring a naked Sophie Dahl, has been banned because it is considered offensive.
Do you think it is obscene, or is too much fuss being made about it?

It is a typical perfume ad - sexy, erotic etc...I'd be interested to c who were complaining about it? What sort of demographics it would bring up...dare i suggest the old and pititful ppl (no, j9, older than you even )
Anyway, way too much fuss being made about it.
Viti kuin muuri.
I personally wouldnt have had the advert banned but there you go!
Thats the english for you.
One thing i think they could have tried though is only having it shown after the watershed.
Eyes are the window to ones heart....Tears are the proof that you have one.
I think that the ad shouldn't have been banned, no matter how BIG it is - everyone has the choice whether they want to look at it or not.

*Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!*
Which according to the news is a lot.
What they fail to realise that those 500 people were probably over the age of 60 or were mormons. In a country of 60 million why are we listening to the opinions of such a small number of people?!?!?
I made a small error there, it was 730 people who complained. Which if my maths is correct is approx 0.0015% of the population.
Why is it that the minority always get their own way???
Sort of like a low-budget consipracy theory really
Personally, i'd say that there is nothing inherently wrong with the ad, it all boils down to biology, 50% of the worlds population have the same body parts as her and everyone does what she looks like she's doing.
Sex is something kids gotta learn about now that they're losing their virginity's at 18 months...well...maybe not QUITE that young, but lets face it, by the time we were 10 we knew more about sex than our parents do now
sorry shouldnt have said that, couldnt resist
(everyone else ignore this as it wont make sense!!)
I was a pure picture of innocence at 8, so hush up!
Plus i had a really nice hat...i wonder what happened to it
so now you have to post a piccie of you in that hat lol.
Welcome to thesite

U HAVE BEEN WARNED!!
but i doesn't really matter seeing as u aint gonna see it anyway, i had the worst curtains every, i properly looked like my head had been circumsised, it was exactly like a cock with a face!
I shudder to think about it
Although YSL are gettin a lot of media attention is it the right sort?
I mean like everyone's goin on bout how she looks like a slut and it conveys that image. Immagine your a boyfriend to some girl, out buying her xmas prezzie, u grab this perfume but then remember the advert and the msg it conveyed to you. Do u really want to imply that your girlfriend is a slut????
Just a thought.........
"I just want to feel safe in my own skin. I just want to be happy again." -Dido
I still haven't seen it, but that's a very good point.

Well fear ye not my brave compadres, for now the day has come to all those who have missed public softcore nudity.
After spending many many many...many hours on the *ahem* World Sex News website (purely for research purposes naturally ) my quest for forbidden fruit was rewarded.
It is my great pleasure to provide for you, the populous of TheSite, the web link to sophie dahl's notorious ad.
Phwoaaaaaaaaaaaar

LIFE: Quite interesting in parts, but no substitute for the real thing
Am I allowed to put that there? If not, edit it out Karla.

It's better to regret things you've done than things you haven't.
