You'd have travelled one light year's worth of miles.

Google sayeth one light year = 5.87849981 × 10^12 miles

right so ...the next nearest star is 4.5 light years away so that would be around ...50 billion miles ...

gordon bennet! these figures are already doing my head in!!!!!!!!!!!

right ...lets try a different one.
our galaxy the milky way ...is 100,000 light years across and we are basicaly on the edge of it so ...at a million miles an hour ...how far would we have got across it if we had started travelling 6,000 years ago?

    6 or 600?

    6 - 52,560,000,000 - 0.5 billion

    600 - 5,256,000,000,000 = 5.25 billion.

Unless you have a means of acheiving infinite acceleration or decreasing your mass to zero, you can't travel at the speed of light.
