From a quick skim read of that directive, I can't actually find anything that mentions banning bananas of the wrong curvature.

And I'll repeat what I wrote on another thread

Ok you must be blind, that link I posted was the Amendment to the original directive. Copied and pasted from that site:

And the other Times article I posted has the original directive (from 1992 I think?).

(b) not sure if I'd believe The Times on this issue, they have an anti-Europe agenda.

If you can post a link to the EU directive that explicitly states that retailers in the UK cannot sell bananas of specific curvatures, then I'll admit I was wrong.
Until then, I'll continue to think that its a myth.
How's that for a compromise?

Aaaahhh, the link on the 1st page works. It doesn't actually have the text of the original directive. It has a supposed quote. Until I see the actual EU directive in full, I'll remain sceptical.
