  Everytime I have had one (god that sounds like lots!!) they've used plastic tools! It only scratched a bit tho one time the doctor did do the feelin me bits thing but that was explained to me before she did. Everytime I've been they have done their best to make me feel at ease. Maybe its just the team at my clinic are very good at makin ppl feel less nervous?
  
  Not sure how to getone at the GP. My mate had a referral letter and his gp sent him to the hospital as they didnt do them at that particular surgery. Tho I guess if the surgery does them, you just ring up and ask for an sti check. Or maybe ask for an appointnment and at that ask the doctor?
