    I'd say it's quite common if they have an intact or thick hymen, not very common otherwise.

    Yes, it can happen. Just through general roughness. Usually not huge rips but like... annoying little cuts.

    I know it's happened to another mate of mine, and franki off here has had it, so I guess it's not as uncommon as lipsy and SWQ think.

    Roo, that's what I was driving at, I wasn't talking about those 40stitches tears when your first born is awkward type things.

    It's quite easy to get little nicks down there, from fingernails or whatever, and they (apparently) can hurt a lot. It's not the losing-ten-pints huge wound, though.

    :yes: I have. Too overzealous with the fingers, hurts lots still even though it's coming on for a year ago now.

    One of my friends was (apparently, not sure if I believe her after she said the guy she was with didn't notice though) ripped so badly she was bleeding in an almost period like fashion and had to have stitches.

    I wouldn't even let a guy go near there if his fingernails were even a little bit long :|. Someone tried once, and good LORD that hurt and was SO uncomfortable, so never again.

    very possible... can get very slightly torn just around the entrance if it's stretched too much, even if you're not having too vigorous sex. which means no more sex for the rest of the week, as I am assured that even a slight nick can be rather painful, stretching it again just aggravating it.

    My girlfriend claims i've caught her with my finger nails a few times, but i think i may have just stretched her a little too much...
