silly question about shaving my bikini area

ok, i bought this yesterday:

and i know this sounds stupid, but when im trimming that area, do i shave down (away from my naval) in the direction of the hair, or up, against the direction of hair growth? i just dont wana do it wrong....and it doesnt say in the booklet

Good question. I tend to go down (away from my tummy) but up again to make sure it's really close. Although I heard somewhere that if you do that you can promote ingrowing hairs... which isn't pretty...

see i always got told to go against the hair growth when shaving my legs.....as do all the women on the venus adverts LOL...and ive never had ingrown hairs from that!
the setting ive got it on is the longest one - 6mm, but going down doesnt trim the area this short!
i may just risk it+go up+hope it doesnt look daft!

irrelevant, but i bought exactly the same thing last week. only difference is its grey not pink

I always shave upwards, but if i'm not really carefull i cut myself.

I trim first, then go down and back up under cold water. Never had ingrowing hairs or a red rash doing it that way, but I do with warm water.

Legs and pits I can easily shave against the grain, bikini, if I shave against I get injured. Though as others can do it, then maybe you can too. Maybe shave one side against, one side with and see which one turns out better.
