Am I right in the assumption that you are the female unit in that partnership?

My best Valentine's Day was spent planting trees with my ex. That was just lovely :)

I can't get into the typical Valentine's Day spirit of going to a restaurant or on cheesy weekends away just like millions of other people are doing. But that said it's the time spent together that makes it special -- so posh meal, night in on the sofa, day out in the countryside... it all does the trick.

Well, go to an cart race hall and drive cart against him... (let him win tho!).

Since I read the thread in the food forum I am fascinated by slow cooking. So maybe set something slow cooking up, do the cart driving, come home, have a lovely dinner, and then have hot raunchy sex.

i don't think you should go for a meal. i've ben out for meals on valentines day and the whole thing just feels contrived and unoriginal. the best thing you could do is either:

book a hotel room then get room service, champagne and just have a looong night of passion.

or if you have a house to yourself, stay in, cook him a meal, drink wine followed by a looooong night of passion

and you know you can make the sex extra special by giving oil massages or taking a bath together or dressing up for him etc.

Last year we went for a meal then went to a Hotel for the night.

I can't be arsed with it this year though, for many reasons.

Many a year ago my mate's step-dad bought me and him a ticket to an underage nightclub on valentines day. Can't stop wanking over that romantic moment.

I've lost faith in Valentine's Day, but there was a girl in uni that I really liked (she was in my class) and for her birthday once I got her a nice present but set up a scavenger hunt for her around the entire department, leaving clues in strange places for her to find and follow.

    Does that count?

Yeah that does counts and just to let everyone know i her this suprise is for my man ( meanin im the female in this relationship)

Jesus Christ, go to the go-cart hall with him, or to the Casino, or paragliding, or to the bull run of pamplona, but don't be so unoriginal to wear a kinky negligeé, spent money on overpriced restaurants, have sloppy sex and then watch the telly...

Do something more out of the ordinary.

Last Valentine's Day, I brought my girlfriend over, and though this is a bit...cliche', I had a white tablecloth with candles, and had her favorite food ready to be eaten, with a CD she made me playing, and her favorite movie ready to be watched.

She didn't know what to do or say at all. It was great. :thumb: But she voiced it very well with, as Lipsy would say, a night of passion. :thumb: :thumb:

I have no idea what to do this year though.

I wouldn't advise going to a restaurant on valentines day (unless its Pizza Hut) because all the ones near me put on special valentines set menu's which cost about 3 times the normal price. Ditto with Hotels.

My advice is to make him a champagne breakfast in bed.

only romantic valentines thing i can remember was when my ex and I lived alone in a 1 bed flat and he covered the whole flat in little candles - have no idea what else happened the night, but i remember being pretty overwhelmed at the time :) thats cheap and easy to do as well

this year, I'm going to Paris. pretty unoriginal, but hopefully pretty romantic nonetheless :)
