A damp patch, ooooh.

After coming back to my student house after Christmas and attempting to shove my suitcase back in the corner of my bedroom, I've found a damp patch on the corner of my wall, just above the skirting board. I think the carpet is a bit damp too, and the books I'd been keeping in a collapsable plastic box have gone soft and crinkly, and the covers have all curled outwards etc.

I'm going to speak to the landlady about this as soon as my exam thingy is handed in, what is she likely to do about it?

Will she want to come and see it?
If she doesn't believe me, who should I contact instead of her?
Will she blame ME for there being a damp patch there?

Oh, and what are the chances of her saying that it's not a room fit to live in and that I can end my contract there and move out?

The chances are that she will do precisely piss all.

Bugger. That's the only escape route I can think of at the moment, her saying I can move out because it's damp.

:yuck: I bet you wished you just had the dump patches from before he did.
