    I can make a (rather baggy) but I'm buggered if I can do single crochet stitch into a chain. I can sort of, but then I get to the knot and the book runs out of instructions on that bit. Andy is fed up with me chucking bits of wool at him.

    I can make a (rather baggy) but I'm buggered if I can do single crochet stitch into a chain. I can sort of, but then I get to the knot and the book runs out of instructions on that bit. Andy is fed up with me chucking bits of wool at him.

    At least they won't get caught in his hair!

    When you reach the knot you need to turn around and start going the other way!

    Is it supposed to collect on the hook? Because at the moment once I've reached the knot there is nowhere to go!

    Nah, you only have one stitch on the hook at once. when you get to the knot you chain 1 and then turn and stitch into the top of all the stitches you just made by stitching into the chain. Unless we're not on about the same thing, in which case I am thoroughly confused!
