Set up a router and network at my friends today ,

I need to open control panel > Administrative tools > local security policy

Shows up on his pc but not the laptop

secpol.msc in run command doesnt work either

any ideas?
EDIT:
forgot to add that the reason i need this is so he can change a setting to allow him to remote shutdown the laptop
EDIT2:
OK , i learned that its not available on home edition , which he has i think , any other ways of getting into the security policy on home edition ? :(

I wouldn't even bother with Home Edition - upgrade to Professional.

True, ive only ever used home edition twice and that was when xp first arrived, then i got pro and ive used it ever since.

so, is it possible to upgrade to pro without them loosing anything. They have a LOT of files and stuff they want to keep and it would take way too long to back everything up.
