I want to change from Mercilon to Cilest - are there any risks or can I just switch over and carry on as usual?

Do it in consultation with your doctor/nurse/whoever you get it from.

There are instructions in the packet that say what to do if you're starting it after taking a different pill, usually says finished the active pills of one pack and go straight onto the active pills in the new pack, skipping any break.

I agree you should chat with the doctor or nurse. TheSite has some information on contraceptive pills - the combined pill and the progestogen only pill. These articles also on podcasts - we're that clever, here. ;)
