Hmm, for some reason I thought you'd be English being a Man Utd fan and all. :chin: Now I see where I went wrong.

I can't see us winning anything at the moment to be fair, but it'll be nice to see Micah Richards show Gary Neville how it's really done. :thumb:

:thumb: Saved me saying it again

I will definately be watching it but it will probably be a let-down as usual.
Bit gutted Aaron Lennons pulled out of the squad because I think he might have got a starting place and he's exciting to watch (another product of the Leeds youth we couldn't keep hold of :( )

I'd be tempted with a full squad to drop Lampard, don't get me wrong I think he's a quality player but hes never really done it 4 england in my eyes, get Gerrard back in the centre and have Lennon out wide.

Not when the country and its fans loathe the club. International football is for the small town inbreds who never get a chance to see top class football.

They won't tonight either what the fuck are they doing playing friendlys at this time of year?

hahah you are a joke man, its only a few months back that you were ranting on about how much you despised man utd now the glaziers had taken over and you were never gonna watch em again and that you were a FC united fan.

now Man Utd seem to be doing well you seem to have jumped back on the man utd band wagon, sort it out pal. you cant have it both ways.

as for people hating man utd...whats that gotta do with the price of fish! its always been like that, and im sure you'll find lots of man utd supporters following England.

and as for friendlies this time of year, maybe they need the match practice before the next qualifiers?? bloody hell.

Just ignore him, too make a post like this is clearly with the sole intention of antagonising people.

I think he's referring to the fact that England fans have a tendency to sing silly chants like "Stand up if you hate Man U" and also have a history of slinging muck at our players (David Beckham, C. Ronaldo) and using these players as scapegoats when they fuck up in tournaments.

You mean like when Beckham got sent of against the Argies and Rooney against the Portugese?

I really don't know where this has come from, I never said I hated United, I am a United fanatic and that is never going to change. Not going to OT is a boycott of the Glazers.

I wondered how long it was going to take

We're not exactly back to winning ways anyway its only November for fuck sake.

Yes a lot do, but as we've got the biggest support in the country we've also got the largest amount of wankers.

Like the 1st teams going to get any decent amount of match practice, they'll be 2736565834 substitutions at half time.

And yes, I am a cunt.

Yea, Beckham getting sent off wasn't why England didn't win the 1998 world cup. They didn't win it because they weren't the best team. Obviously the only course of action then was to burn effigies of David Beckham and wish AIDS on his children.

And I'm sure the Rooney/Ronaldo thing is still pretty fresh in people's minds. Sven's tactical ineptness and collective shite performances were why they didn't win this year, not because some Portugese player complained to the referee about his opponent stamping on his teammate.

I don't blame them soley for us losing those games anyway and I'm pretty sure most England fans don't either.

I think Godscop's opinion on people who support their local small town clubs speaks volumes. Is the fact he gets a chance to see 'top class' football the only reason why he's a Man U supporter?

and the fact that he refuses to go to old trafford? haha
so infact everyone who watches the games on sky probably sees as much top flight footy as he.

United IS my local club. I didn't say anything about people supporting small clubs I was talking about supporting ingerlund.

Been going to OT since I was a nipper until this season, I don't have to justify my support to any of you.

true, we're trying to get to the bottom of your weird ideals and why you think its good to slag the england team off.

when the time comes for england to win the world cup again i hope you are sat indoors alone with a brew and a custard cream watching the world go by.

    Beckham '98
    P. Neville '00
FA treatment of Cantona in '95
FA forcing us to not defend the cup
    FA in general
United players reguarly jeered at England games in the past
    It winds ABUs up

I do watch the World Cup, see the country get all giddy then laugh as they get knocked out blaming everyone else.

Majority of people at England games support div2/3 clubs far as I can see, maybe I was being a bit harsh but as I see it the more successful a club is the less its fans care about internationals.

I'm sure you don't blame them, but alot of the smallminded wankerish fans definitely did.

You don't go to the trouble of making full scale Beckhams to burn outside your pub, unless you specifically blame him for your team's failing, likewise Ronaldo. England fans always look for a scapegoat, and the fact these players played for United makes them an easy target for their frustration and hate.

So The f.a over reacted when Cantona jumped into the crowd and attacked a supporter? Irrespective of the abuse he was subjected him too?

im sure some of the views of united fans in this thread are obviously helping them to shift the reputation for being wankers.....

eta: United fans are well up themselves, i dont like united, but to be fair there are about 5 other clubs i hate a lot more than them...so dont big yourselves up. im sure its same for other clubs as well.

Hmm, but it has nothing to do with being English perhaps. :chin:

This must be like algebra for you, being/living/born in England you do tend to support you country regardless of where you live. :yeees:

I hope you're not bundling me into that. I was merely pointing out why some English United fans don't affiliate themselves with the England team.

to be honest, i was generalising. i think that your oppinions are a lot more thought out and honest than others.

so no, i wasnt including you in my rash comment.

however, i do feel that man utd fans in general do have a bit of a chip on their shoulder about people hating them, where most people couldnt give a crap.

I will support England because Iam English, but I would object to being associated with "fans" who have abused the likes of the Neville brothers and Beckham whilst they we wearing the three lions, on the basis that they are United players.
