What kind of doctor

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
I'm not sure what kind of doctor I would go to about this so I thought I'd ask. It is for my tongue. I want some work on it, not just to be looked at. I'm not sure whether that would be a thing for a cosmetic surgon, oral/maxillofacial surgeon or some other type. Any help, thanks :)

Dentist? As they deal with anything to do with the mouth. (near enough anyway)

When I had a lump on my tongue that needed investigating, they referred me to an Ears, nose and throat specialist. HTH.

It will depend whats wrong with it. Some things can be caused by your teeth, so would be a Dentist, sometimes MaxFac, sometimes ENT, sometimes oral surgeon.

Thank you, I had forgotten about them. Not to be nosey, but could they also remove it there (if that was the case)? I have a bump and what I can only assume to be a skin tag from where I had my tongue pierced. I had the tag removed once at my general doctor but it came back and every once in a while it hurts for several days at a time.

    Thank you :)
