As for single life changing or momentous events in my life I would have to say the REM Slane 1995 concert. My god, but that was amazing.
Losing my faith when I was 18 was pretty damn life changing as well.
And living with my roomate Vicki in America, that has really had a deep affect on me too.
what made you lose ure faith?

Nothing touches my hearts. That was various layers of bodily protection are for!
not sure if this should be here, but as you said
and it may touch other people and change the way they think and feel(Yeah i can't see that happen as well, but it is quite interesting).

oooooh, that's a question and a half. I'm sure the whole story is quite dull really, I only churn it out for good friends if they are genuinely interested.
I was a devout Christian for 5 years... Sunday School teacher, youth leader, missionary work in the summer holidays, the whole genuine deal. I had real faith too, not just belief.
Then when I hit 18, especially when I got to college, somethings had just started not to add up, not to ring true.
To cut a long story short, I was praying one night when I suddenly realised I was sitting in my room talking to thin air, and how ridiculous that seemed. Just a brick-to-the-head shock realisation that my entire belief system, raison d'etre, and all-powerful god, just didn't exist.
i just can't lie to myself, although sometimes I nearly wish I could fool myself into living in blissful ignorance and denial like some ppl can. But I just knew I had no faith, and had to set about telling all my Christain friends that I was no longer their sister in Christ. Aaah, those were some awkward conversations... "hi Mark, yes, I'm going to hell, turning my back on everything we've lived for until now, see ya around!" lol.
Scary, try having everything sorted out only to have the rug pulled from under your feet, lol.
It took me a while to adjust to a universe where I meant nothing. But now I am much happier, I feel a greater zest for life and confidence in myself.
lmao, bet you regret asking.
Besides, if I was the person I used to be I wouldn't be able to tell Turtle to feck off the way I am right now <IMG SRC="tongue.gif" border="0" ALT="icon">
Very good, Harmless!
I've seen the Hitler/Roosevelt/Churchill thing before but never the Beethoven one.
Sadly, I can't think of an event that drastically changed my life. Maybe it just hasn't happened yet.
By the way, Steven Wright (the guy who you quoted in your sig) is an American comedian. If you've ever seen Half Baked, he's the "guy on the couch". Just in case you wanted to know.
I sat down with a teacher who i had spent time talking to in the past and he gave me the most lifechanging talk that i can remember! At the moment his words have gone from my head but we talked about life in general-not just school, and one thing i remember him saying was that he was jealous that i had staright hair and his was curly and hed always wanted straight hair.
Anyway, off th point a little there!
As i walked out the room i said that i would remember the conversation always. I said that when i was 80 id still remember the conversation and the way i walked out the door-his reply was that id forget it by the next day.
But even now, 6 months on, and the reason being is because it really did change my outlook on the way i lived each day. I could either chose to see the bad things and go furtehr and further down hill coz i was stressed about school, or i could chose to live the good things of my life and work on making the bad things better.
Since he told me i had no reason to stress botu exams i never have again and all that he said to me touched me in such an undescribable day! Hes left my school now but i know hes going to my prom in June so i can thank him then and remind him that im never gonna forget!
