a question about the "prom"

Hey...prom's in inverted commas only cos we don't call it the prom here but you get the idea. 
Mine is a week on Thursday, the 3rd of August, and I've no dress. I'm bringing a friend of mine who had his own during the week and pushed out the boat and went a bit different. Now we're trying to do the same, go mad altogether, but we are (or at least I am) stuck.
We were discussing it last night and we need a "theme". What do people suggest? Keeping in mind I have less than two weeks to find a reasonably-priced, well-fitting dress.
We were thinking Rocky Horror Picture Show (my drunken suggestion - not gonna happen, lol!) or Walk The Line/50s? Anything else?
