Nail thickener

My nails always are peeling at the top, I don't know why, probalby becasue I have a shit diet, but who knows, anyways... since they peel they get very thin on the tips then break if they don't have polish on them. So at the store the other day I saw a "nail thickener." and I was wondering if anybody had tried anything like this, and their opinions on it.

I'm such an opinion freak when it comes to buying something new for me
