Own Business / Business Degree

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
I did a small business course last year - just a 6 month part time thing - and basically we just learnt about working out a Business Plan. I learnt quite a lot of hidden things I hadn't thought of when it comes to starting a business, which I hope to do within the next 6 months to a year.

What i'm asking is - would it be beneficial to go and get a Business degree if I just plan on working for myself in my own small business... Would have a certificate/degree hanging on my wall make any difference to the way I run my business even thought I've already done a small business course?

Anyone done something like this before?

Well since you're employing yourself, quaifications aren't really necessary. I think business degrees are more for people wanting to get jobs in big companies. If you think you can learn something from it, then go ahead, but you can probably just read the books off the course and get the same information.
