    knives are totally pointless for self defence because you have to get pretty damn close to the person in order to be able to stab them effectively - unless of course your a circus knife thower - and if your that close there is always the chance they can stab you back.

    Personally i never leave home without my bow and arrow - such are the mean streets of south london!!

    I did once. I lived in a roguh area and had to walk down an aleey late at night. My ex gave it me, it was a gold flick knife with a 5 inch blade I think. It got my ex sent to prison (long story) so I've swore never to carry one again adn never walk down dark alleys.
