    I tried that, I drove my mum's car in a private car park and tbh it was nothing like a real driving lesson. Not worth it imo.

    I agree with what everyone else has said. In fact it's probably better to do it the other way round, and spend more money at the start, and use your boyfriends car more when you've got the basics down. That way you can get onto things like manouveres and observations quicker, without having to worry about which pedal to step on when.
