You can get negative intergers definately (I just checked to make sure). But according to the quiz -7 is not a "whole number". I would beg to differ.

Edited to add, I just found this definition of a whole number on google:
A whole number doesn't contain a fraction. A whole number is an integer which has 1 or more units and can be positive or negative.

And I just emailed my dad cuz i'm curious now to go ask a math teacher (cuz hes a teacher too and right next door to one) and he said that she said that whole numbers are non negative. As did he.

But maybe they are wrong who knows who cares :p

I never realised what a debatable issue whole numbers could be! Now because I am a geek I have been searching for more on this. On Wikipedia there are three definations given and the first is positive integer, the second is non-negative integer and the third is just integer. Also they give a link to the following statement from Alan F Beardon, Professor in Complex Analysis at the University of Cambridge:
Every whole number has a remainder R when divided by 10, for example, 53 has remainder 3, 67 has remainder 7 and so on. Of course a whole number can be negative and we have to agree what we mean by the remainder in this case; for example, what is the remainder of -12 when we divide it by 10? There are two possible answers here and both are equally valid. First we could say that -12 = (-1 x 10) + (-2) or second, we could say that -12 = (-2 x 10) + (8) so that the remainder is 8. In this article the remainder will always be positive (or, of course, zero) so that, for example, the remainder of -137 is 3, and the remainder of -58 is 2. The remainder of 120, and of -120, is 0. The general rule, then, is that any whole number can be written as a multiple of 10 plus the remainder, where the remainder is always one of the numbers: 0, 1, 2...9

But I will bear in mind the alternative definition of positive or non-negative integer from now on when I use the term.
