Films that NEED to be made?

Films like LOTR trilogy and War of the Worlds and King Kong remakes were made better because of the advance in special effects and such.

So with the advance of movie making what film do you want to see made/remade?

I'll get back to you on my thoughts after I've had a wee think.

I'd like to see True Romance remade but with Taratino directing instead of just writing.

After more thought, these books would make brilliant films, if the authors were involved in the screenplay:

Good Omens by Neil Gaiman & Terry Prachett

The Thursday Next series by Jasper Fforde (I'd give my right leg to see a decent film version of the 2nd & 3rd books).

Anything by Christopher Brookmyre (We'll rightfully ignore the tv version of Quite Ugly One Morning. Utter shite)

Armageddon the Musical by Robert Rankin. Harrison Ford might be told old now though to play Rex..........

I want to say A Conspiracy of Dunces but.......the book is too good to risk a dodgy film version.

If they remake Labyrinth I'll cry. They'll ruin it and destroy my childhood dreams!
It's perfect how it is so why fix it if it isn't broke?
Plus... If they make Bowie do all that magic dancing again he'll probably have another heart attack. It would finish him off!

    :p

Yeah, Labyrinth's perfect as it is.

The Weirdstone of Brasingamen by Alan Garner. Our teacher read to us at primary school and it's stayed with me ever since.

ooh, I dunno, maybe it should just die a silent death. It was one of the very few films that I couldn't manage/bear to watch through... Maybe I should give it another try- can't be worse than Citizen Kane, which I did eventually manage...

Er, no! There is 'proper violence' in ACO as it is, and Kubrick done did a fabby job of utilising asynchronous sound, visual imagery, montage, lighting, intertextuality, etc etc etc to create violence and disturbance that to actually frame the violence in fidelity would ditract from the power of the film media and creative cinematography. In other words- pointless and gratuitous...

Dunno the other film you mentioned. Maybe I should hink of one I DO think needs making rather than just dissing other's choices? hmmm....

Yer, mind your own business women... :p

I love the orange cockwork as it is, plenty of stuff are already quite good, but I think updating the violence a bit would be nice... more blood :yum: for example... otherwise I love the mental play in it.. specially the part where they force him to watch videos...

I didn't mean that they should remake the film from the film, but from the book which was much better.
