The nominations were announced ealier in the week. They are;

Bassment Jaxx - Rooty
Ed Harcourt - Here be monsters
Elbow - Asleep in the back
Goldfrapp - Felt mountain
Gorillaz - Gorillaz
PJ Harvey - Stories from the city, stories from the sea
Radiohead - Amnesiac
Super Furry Animals - Rings around the world
Susheela Raman - Salt rain
Tom McRae - Tom McRae
Turin Brakes - The optimist LP
Zero 7 - Simple things

Who do you think will win?

I think either Turin Brakes or Zero 7 are gonna get it, with Tom McRae as a possible outsider. I'd like Elbow to win cos there from Manchester and BDB won last year and it'd be nice if Manchester could win two years in a row.

I actually think that this years list is one of the strongest in recent years.

Everything about you is how I want to be.

    Gorillaz.

That said, it's usually the one you least expect - remember Gomez?

    Gomez was a good album.

But Gorillaz? It's a good album but it's not the best off the list.

Have you heard PJ Harvey? Or any of the other eight i wouldn't mind if they one?

Gomez was an excellent album - their other not really matching, but still good quality.

I think 'Gorillaz' because of the diversity on the album - it's not just one style. ANd just look at the impact...

I hope it's radiohead or turin brakes, but it's a pretty shit list. And that whole damon albarn saying he didn't want to win thing is the most transparently shit publicity stunt which completely destroys his last remaining shards of credibility. beta Band and Ed Harcourt should have been nominated.

    Did you read the list?

I think you'll find if you actually read the list Ed Harcourt's name was second on it.

Agreed that beta band could have been included but the list is still strong without them.

Elbow, Goldfrapp, gorillaz, PJ Harvey, Radiohead, Tom McRae, Turin Brakes and Zero 7. This is a strong a list as you will find in british music at the moment.

I reckon itll be Turin Brakes, but Radiohead and PJ Harvey are in with a good shout- I wouldnt be surprised if she won it.

It matters not who won or lost, but how you place the blame.
