But having said that, nobody wants red roses, because red roses are cheap. Just like their county.

I never considered the possibility of reduced roses after Valentine's Day. Makes sense.

    Hee hoo haa.
    I know.

Who'd want an inferior red rose as their emblem when white roses are clearly better?

It's a useful storage area for Preston, I suppose.

    Keeps it away from humanity.

Thank God for the Pennines. Although the attempts to keep the naff weather from here are rather pitiful at the moment :grump:

what's the harm in spending one day of the year making your mum feel special? You don't have to spend lots of money on presents to do that. I don't understand some of you sometimes, so negative about everything. I will be making sure my mum has a nice day and that doesn't mean spending shit load of money to show that I appreciate her. And before you someone says 'you should show your love and appreciation for her everyday', which I believe I do anyway, what's the harm is spending one day a year making a bit more of an effort?? Effort doesn't cost a penny so stop moaning

Agree totally. I once found a picture of me and my brother an sister when we were small sat with my mum and i framed it and gave it to her and that was like the best thing she ever got on mothers day. Didn't cost anything.

Ah I do love Mother's day! I treated my Mum to lunch today and got her stuff from Marks and Sparks for her bathroom - which she picked out as she's a fussy thing to get things for and was all about getting things for her house. Got her chocs and a card for tomorrow and a pillow thing that says "Home is where your Mum is". She'll love it. She's a sappy thing. :)

Everyone knows the only good thing to come out of Yorkshire is the M62 to Manchester.

I got my mum some candles and a card, haha. Get in.

I did the same, but I kind of cheated, seeing as me mum's hobby is cardmaking...

I nabbed aload of pre-made card toppers and such ;[

I got my mum a couple of pictures for her living room that I know she wanted. But I feel bad that I can't be at home to give her them. She know what I got her because I had to tell her so she didn't buy them! But I really like mother's day. I think it's nice to give her a whole day of pampering even though She know's I love her every day. I agree with Schnap.

I have sent my mum a card but I haven't bought her anything yet. I shall get something for when I go and see her in 2 weeks time. That way I can give it to her in person :)
