Ball/Prom Dresses

Where can you buy nice ones for a decent price?

Anything online would be great :p

These are some I've seen so far but I'm not sure if they are appropriate to the place I'm going really...

Dress 1

Dress 2

Dress 3 (I'd choose this in black)

Dress 4

I'm going to a final-years leavers uni ball thingy as a guest so I'm not quite sure what to wear. I know I've got to wear a prom/ball dress but I don't want a big long silky one to be honest. Are the short ones I've picked out unsuitable or do I really have to go with the trend and where one?

Personally, I love the first dress but I don't know if it is suitable for such a formal event even though it is infact called a prom dress!

Help!
Beep boop. I'm a bot.

you can wear any of them but a longer one would be the most appropriate.

    You could try ebay.

I've tried ebay and there isn't any that I really like. Plus, if the dress doesn't end up fitting me, I'd have a problem then if they didn't accept returns.

I like the first one. Why wouldn't it be suitable?

at uni balls, most people wear very long dresses.

I really like the first one too :( I'm gonna feel like a right mong in a long dress but then again, if I wear a short one and I'm the only one wearing a short one, I'm going to feel even worse!

I doubt you'll be the ONLY one. Ask around. Is there actually a written rule? I agree, long to the ankle dresses are gay unless you are going to the Oscars.

Why will you feel like a mong in a long dress? Surely you will feel like more of a mong if you go in a shorter dress and you're the only one without a full-length dress on?

I like the yellow one, but it's more of a premiere dress than a ball dress. Definitely try Monsoon/Debenhams/Marks&Sparks. :)

if you can't find anything then just go for the knee length dress. you won't be the only one not wearing an ankle length dress.

I'd go for 3 in black. None of the others scream ball to me. A ball is the perfect excuse to go over the top with the dress, and most people seem to go for long ones. When else can you justify a "princess" dress apart from at a wedding?

I know my prom dress is going to be full length with a full skirt, and my last one was ankle length and then it definately wasn't the shortest there!

i absolutely love the first one that 1983 posted.. id go for a long one, the shorter ones you posted are lovely but i think most people will be wearing long ones, so you'll probably feel more comfortable if you do too.
