have you been on NHS direct? failing that, ill pull any teeth for a fiver? and do fillings with cement for £2.50! (unfortunately due to my cheap prices, i cant afford anaesthetic, you will have to provide your own form of pain relief! ;) )

    tried nhs direct.
directed me to a hospital in rhyl.
    went this morning.
    can't fit me in.
but if i phone them ...they might fit me on saturday morning.
could i make an appointment there and then? no!
i had to phone them ...standing in front of them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    absolute fucking madness.

they will get back to me tommorow to let me know.
nhs gave me some numbers of private dentists in llandudno ...thirty miles away ...thats not a problem but ...no one can even see me till next week.

so anyone looking for a carear ...theres a desperate shortage of dentists ...

read all this stuff in the papers ...seen queues outside on the telly ...not taken much notice as i thought it could only be that bad if you wanted a freebies but no ...same problems with private.

It took me about 6 months to find a dentist taking on NHS in Swansea. I just kept checking www.nhsdirectwales.nhs.uk Though i think bunny's idea is cheaper cos it costs £35 alone to register an NHS place at the mo :crazyeyes Just make sure that cos bunny cant afford anaesthetic you drink yourself into a stupor before hand :thumb:

The situation with the NHS in North Wales is pretty bad right now. In my LJ last week, I wrote; "I’m having some problems at the moment with the dentist. The one I’m registered to will stop providing NHS care in April, most likely because of the new working contracts that come into force that month. I’m being asked to pay £34.50 for 12 months cover."

    NHS care is disappearing fast...

Are you serious? Must be dismal over there.

My village of 1,000 people has a dentist like.

It'd probably work out cheaper and faster to take a quick break to Spain or Eastern Europe or somewhere and get it done privately there - loads of people do just that.
