K heres the deal. I've got a UK PlayStation2 and wanna play Japanese imported games on it.

you need an MOD chip fitted. well thats how the PSX works anyway, dont ask me, ive not even got one.

I'm not sure, but gameshark let's you play japan games without sending your system away. I own a dreamcast and I have gameshark and I can play japan games anything I want...

i dunno. ive got a normal playstation which is ok i guess, i just cant see the point in shelling out 4 a new one just for the sake of it. to be entirely honest, i really miss my mega drive 2, i wish i hadnt have sold it... <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/frown.gif"&gt;

Yeah, there's ways around the foregin games thing, like the game shark thing someone mentioned earlier.

I had my old Playstation chipped, and it worked fine, but the PSX2 is entirley different .. and being a non-techy-PSX bloke i'll stop here !! lol <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/biggrin.gif"&gt;

You need to get it chipped. Then, if you have no SCART connection you'll need an NTSC-PAL convertor. they cost about 10-15 quid.

Is the framerate slowdown on unreal tournament as bad as all the mags make out? (I mean wen ur playinit with more than player) Does timesplitters suffer this problem if u have more than 2 players? Hmmmmm i worried now

Yeah get a SCART with it m8, otherwise u have to shell out 10-15 of yer english pounds for the normal RGB (think thats right).

Not really sure how one of those cheat things would work seemin as the PS2 has no parellel port (although neither did the last lot of the orginal PS so there was one which was all on a CD). I aint gettin it chipped (sendin my £300 machine to some dude of the net <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/eek.gif"&gt;
