suspender belts

are the knickers supposed to go over the suspender belt or under it. In pictures i see the knickers go under, and it looks neater, but how do you take knickers off to go to loo, have sex etc, if theyre underneath - then surely youd have to take the whole thing off - stockings too? What does anyone else do on the occasions…
