Sally bear and her 5 sisters are having a picnic. Sally brought her boyfriend and he brought 32 mates. Sally's sisters brought 12 mates each and when they got there. they met half as many bears again. Big picnic.

    Count all the bears

Someone please solve this for me :crying:

    148.5, although

as kermit points out, one "bears" :P :

Sally bear and her 5 sisters are having a picnic. Sally brought her boyfriend and he brought 32 mates. Sally's sisters brought 12 mates each and when they got there. they met half as many bears again. Big picnic.

it says all the bears, therefore it wont be one as its implying there is more than one

    Count all the bears

    1+5+1=7
    +32=
    39
    +
    5*12=60
    =
    99
    (92/2=46)
    therefore
    99+46=145.

    145 the right answer?

    Count all the bears

Sally Bear is her name, so only her and her sisters (assuming they are not married) will have the last name Bear.

    so them, plus half again

    6+3=9

    :p

(although... that may be cheating  )

I'm gonna guess the 'they met' refers to the sisters and say 129

Edit - says count all the bears

1.5 ? sally bear, plus a half of her, never says the others are bears?

    141

    Sally +bf =2 +32(mates) =34
    5 sisters 12 friends each (5 x 12) =60
    60 +34 =94
    94/2 = 47

    94 +47 = 141

    1 + 5 + 1 + 32 + (5*12) + (5*12)/2 = 129

    sally+sisters = 6 "Bears"
Half as many again = 6+3
    total=15

    6+3 =9

where are you getting 15 from?

    9+6

    sally plus sisters = 6

then they meet half as many bears again = 3

    so together they total 9?

3 is half as many as 6
9 is half as many again as 6

so my answer stands at 15
