Liver biopsy?

Has anyone had one? I had elevated liver enzymes 6 month ago which were classed as "abmormal" and so I was told to go on a diet etc etc to try and reduce the fat in my liver which could of been causuing the elevated liver enzymes. Any way, got my second set of blood tests reults back today and the "alanine aminotransferase" ( 
) was higher than it was last time so I've been given another 6 months to maintain my current diet and what not to see if it makes any difference to my next set of liver function tests in May next year. If not then I gotta have a biopsy! Just wondering if you can stay awake when having it done as I have a weird phobia about being put out
