DO NOT FORGET TOILET ROLL

That's all i'm gonna say.

You have the right not to be killed - murder is a crime.
Unless it was done by a policeman.

I'd take some high energy food too as you will probably spend all your money at the beginning of the festival and walking past all those burger stalls will set off the hunger pangs.
Most festivals have 'local shop' type stalls but they are expensive, so best to be prepared!
A water bottle, torch and loo roll are the three things you will need.
Have a good one

• Tent
• Money
• Water
• Bog Roll
• Baby Wipes (how else are you gonna wash?)
• Clean Underware
• And a clean pair of shoes to go home in

Probably loads more stuff.

Generally your bags won't get checked unless you are taking far more crates of beer in than they deem necessary, or you look dodgy!
The camping area is seperate to the stages and you are more likely to be checked out at the entrance to the main arena.

i went to reading last year and i got back from a very muddy v2001 yesterday, so the items i recommend are:

1. tent, as light as possible to carry cos it's likely to be a long walk from the car to the campsite!
2. sleeping bag, preferably waterproof and again, small to carry!
3. bin bags, to put wet clothes in plus to sit on if the ground gets wet
4. spare socks, cos it get miserable if you have wet feet for a weekend!
5. toilet roll, cos there's unlikely to be any unless you get in just after the bogs have been emptied
6. empty plastic bottles, which you can take into the arena and fill up with water
7. booze (not in glass bottles) cos it will cost a bomb if you want to buy it there
8. if there's a few of you going it might be worth buying a couple of disposable bbqs, they're light, and save you buying your breakfast if you take some bacon and stuff with you
9. as few clothes as possible. you really won't wear that many
10. wet wipes/face wipes - will really make you feel better!
11. torch - could make it easier to find your way back to the tent in one piece! plus handy for late night loo trips!
12. chewing gum - you may not get to brush your teeth as often as you'd like!
13. money, cos everything will be expensive!

most of all though, take a sense of humour! festivals are absolutely amazing, but only if you can keep smiling after days of rain, mud, and little sleep!!! & make friends with people in nearby tents, you'll have more of a laugh, plus they'll hopefully look out for you if you have any probs.

have fun! <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/smile.gif">
