easy way of getting laws passed

1. announce well in advance a document laying out your proposed laws, ableit even more more draconian than you actually want

2. in a months time when everyone has heard it long enough on tv theyll warm to a general change

3. know that people with some power i.e. mps wont want it but wont have enough votes

4. propose a nice compromise being the bill you wanted

and if your lucky you get even more power than you secretly planned

its like haggling but far more devious - congrats to the labour party for mastering this

2nd place goes to the tory foreign minister during the falklands war who was so boring noone could be bothered to listen

Almost as good as blowing some buildings up and then using it as a pretext for abolishing centuries old freedoms and rights. Ones that survived the Nazi's and the cold war but aren't up to the task of stopping a couple of dozen people who allegedly "want to end our way of life."
