There is a new 'contraceptive pill text reminder service' where a text message is sent to your mobile phone as a simple and very discrete reminder to take the pill each day, keeping you keep on track and making the pill taking process much easier.
Have you ever forgotten to take the pill?
Do you worry about forgetting to take the pill?
No longer do you have to make a note to yourself or set an alarm each day, this great 'text reminder service' is solely dedicated to all women who take the contraceptive pill so no more excuses to forget!
If you take the pill exactly as prescribed, including taking the pill at the same time each day, then its effectiveness is likely to be 100%.
Its very easy to join.
Its only 25p a text (This is paid to your mobile phone company, any charges will be identified on your normal phone bill. Costs only incurred when you receive a text message.)
You can 'opt out' of the service any time.
How it works:
The 21 day pill with a 7 day break:
To accept the service, send just one text stating:
1.'MSE'
2. The exact date you start the first pill in your next pill pack
3. The exact time you take the pill each day (using the 24 hour clock)
4. 21.
For example 'MSE 3rd Nov 9:00 21' to 81222.
A text message will be then sent to your mobile phone starting on the 3rd November, at 9am for 21 days, then no text will be sent for the following 7 days (text/pill break), then you will receive a text for the next following 21 days and so on.
OR
The 28 day pill with no break:
To accept the service, send just one text stating:
1. 'MSE'
2. The exact date you would like to start the service
3. The exact time you take the pill each day (using the 24 hour clock)
4. 28.
For example 'MSE 5th Nov 13:00 28' to 81222.
A text message will be then sent to your mobile phone starting on the 5th November, at 1pm everyday with no text breaks.
Important note - This service is only available to over 16's who have been prescribed the pill by their GP.
At any time just text 'stop' and no text reminder will be sent to your mobile phone.
If required, just text 'MSE' with any query/question to 81222 (25p charge will be applicable.')
