If, from a parental perspective, I knew that my son or daughter wouldn't seek help if they thought I would be told of their activities, I'd rather not be told.

    Because that will work.

Just what the weakest people need, for their parents to be told they're having sex or after the pill or something. I can see that going down a treat in the Muslim community in particular.

It wouldn't happen. They're just 'consulting'.

Seriously, it won't happen. It breaches ethics. If we can breach confidentiality for children, why not everyone - husbands, wives etc.

I suspect that this is a smokescreen from something else they want to do, just not sure what that is yet.

Like they haven't done that before.

You mean the ethics such as not dissecting a patient's medical record in the House of Commons? 'Cause Blair did that, and some doctor obviously gave him the details.

Lets just say I hear things.

After the patient (and the MP) had put it in the public arena.

Wasn't she simply complaining about the unutterable shiteness of the hospital near her?

So Blair decided to use confidential information to attack her.

I'd put money on it. It would obviously require the co-operation of frontline doctors and nurses, and it won't happen.
