So, can you write?

Anyone fancy themselves as an aspiring poll writer? We'll I hope so because we've decided to give you all a chance to see your words in glorious verdana on TheSite.org homepage.

We'd like you to suggest polls of the day. You don't need to worry about finding images but a question and the answers would be great. If we like a poll enough we'll use it on TheSite's homepage.

For an example of some previous polls just take a look at the following -

http://www.thesite.org/community/pollsandsurveys/dailypolls/september2005polls

And naturally we'd like you to think about either topical or universal themes, rather than board based polls - so no 'Is Jim V the best mod ever' poll I'm afraid. :grump:

Just add your polls to this thread, or if you'd rather keep them between you and the staff just email me them at jim@thesite.org

In society these days, where is the general gender bias?

    - The same as in the past; towards men. On average they earn more, they are still front line troops + other hazardous jobs where women are restricted.

    - About equal nowadays. There are pros and cons for women and men, but they even out. We can't all be identical after all.

    - Towards women. Because of a strong women's rights movement and society being overly political correct, we've compensated too much and women get special priveledges i.e. to not be discriminated for a job when for insurance which is based on the same 'risk assesment' they get cheaper quotes than men.

Of course, feel free to chop it down, or re-write it, it's just an idea that you're free to play about with.

    Another idea:

Is the internet and technology a good thing?

    - no, people are lazy and sit in front of their computers all day - heart disease and obesity is on the rise

    - yes, with the freedom of information on the internet it has untold benefits for all of us (cheaper stuff off internet shops)

    - yes and no, basically.

Just another idea. I'll keep popping them in here when I think of them :)

    Oh wait... here's another:

What do you think of marriage:

    - I'm already happily married

    - I want to get married one day definately, when you're in love getting married is the ultimate sign of commitment to each other.

    - I might get married if I'm in the right relationship and it seems the right thing to do, but who can say what the future holds

    - I'm not too keen on the idea of marriage, divorce rates are up and if a relationship turns sour I won't be able to get out of it easily

    - Weddings are mainly religious services, so asking for gods 'blessing' for me and my partner isn't going to affect me in any shape or form. I love them, and they love me, end of.

You might still see the sauce survey, and Shyboy, interesting polls but take a look at the homepage - you only have a real short space to get a point across.

Unicorn: Its horns curly like a pigs tail, only harder.
Dragon: theres too many films made for them not to be real, plus theres fire.

Well, i personally feel that if the poll ideas are submitted here, then everyone has already read them. If a person reads a poll and five minutes later, it is submitted. Does not that spoil the idea of polls, they are suppose to be spontaneous

Yeah but the readership of the website is around 10,000 people every day, the view numbers on this thread hardly justify denying users an input in the homepage

    Wow, that's quite a lot.

    Whats your vice?

    - Food
    - Sex
    - Money
    - Power

You could change the word 'vice' if you wanted, I don't think it fits. I meant in the context out of those, which one is your main weakness. Mine could be all four actually! :chin:

Your attitude to money and debt?

I like to save for a rainy day

If I have it I'll spend it but no more

I'll dip into my overdraft when I have to but I try to be careful

I have 16 credit cards ... why should I worry about debt?!?!

MoK is a Man of Kent. I am a Kentish Man. An important difference. You wouldn't want me calling you a Yorkshireman, would you?

Thanks for putting the saucy poll up though :thumb:

    - Ronald McDonald
    - Trevor McDonald
    - Old McDonald (not allowed to use the pitchfork)

    Certainly is a testing one...

Clearly Trevor. We don't need a poll for that.

What are you most afraid of?
    1. Terrorists
    2. The Government
