I really really don't like the dress, but would someone in their right mind love it enough to pay this much for it?

:eek2:

    it's not even nice.

looks like something they'd sell in dewsbury market for the kiddy-goffs.

I saw it in my local topshop and I must admit, I love it and would have bought it if I was 17, but would look silly in it at 29.

I think it's pretty nifty. But not worth that much.

I like it. But it's wooly so not very good for wearing on a night out 'cause it'd get a bit warm!

How mental. I would never pay that much for anything that came from TopShop!

Might be a good way to invest if you fancy ripping off Londoners on Ebay ;)

slightly off topic, but why has topshop become so stupidly expensive all of a sudden?

if i wanted to spend £40 on a pair of jeans, i wouldn't go there.

I don't know, I've noticed it too. I don't really shop there, but I was browsing with a friend of mine, and some prices are getting a bit silly, especially for what the items are. I've noticed the same with Zara, but I only get jackets from there as their trousers have never done anything for me.

You can get a pair of Levis for £40...

And £40 for a wooly jumper is just cheeky.

their handbags are all of a sudden getting expensive because they're real leather. they know students shop their, how can students afford a £70 handbag?!

They can afford it because of student loans and overdrafts.

i've got both of these and can't justify spending that much on a handbag.

then again i do have about 60.

what students do you know?? I get a lot of help from my parents, and I still can't afford that~!!!!! !!!!

As for the jumper, I was tempted, but having seen a gazillion people wearing it already, I passed. Plus ~I already have a v similar greay and pink wool, long one that was cheaper so couldnt see the sense.

i've not seen a single person wearing one around here, so i could be tempted but it's quite a statement piece really and wouldn't be able to get away with wearing it very much so can't really justify the £40 (or £36 with NUS ;)).

TBH, I don't know where they got the idea for that dress, considering current trends. It looks like something that would have been out 2-3 years ago, when punky, bright fashion was in style. Think Girls Aloud in their Jump video.

I thought now was all about the puff-ball, and dark, victorian, military chic clothing. Not oversized jumpers.

Topshops prices are getting ludicrous. I used to think they were in the same kind of league as H&M, or New Look or something. But their prices are the same as Monsoon, or Next nowadays. I get annoyed when I go in there for, say, a black v-neck woolly jumper for school and it costs £25. Or £18 for a plain t-shirt that they've printed with a palm-tree motif. Or that they can charge up to £15 for a bangle. 'Tis stoopid. But surfy labels are the same. It's virtually impossible to kit out your wardrobe fashionably for under £20 a piece now.

    thats not true.
Primark, peacocks and supermarkets are your friend for cheap n trendy clothes.
I agree that topshop is overpriced, but they do have some good sales.

I saw the jumper-dress in Topshop Trafford Centre, so it can't be that rare. I like it, though. I doubt I'd buy it, because I love my Primani far faarrr too much.
