Will it affect you?

I'm guessing it won't affect us as we are moving to a new house but it still seems a bit shit. It's high enough as it is!

read here if you don't know what i'm on about

well annoyed cause our house is band A :grump:

Are they gonna change the parameters though?

they will have to. Band A in everything that was under 40,000 in 1991. there are NO houses worth that now in leeds. So I assume they'll have to re-jig.

if they don't, we'll be bumped right up to band E. which would double our tax payments

I think it was inevitable really unless they scrapped the whole thing. I mean, the valuations are 14 years old and average house prices are a million miles away from what they were then. Band A is up to £40,000! Can you even get anything for that now, apart from a garage?!

I live in a house that was once a council house. As some people's houses are still owned by the council (my next door neighbour for example) I'm pretty sure that our house will remain in the lowest band.

Except that Jesus did die (and was risen from the dead if you believe in such things but that's by the by) and Capone went to prison for ten years for his tax evasion ;)

Neither of them paid any taxes though, did they?

Horrible punishments for other "crimes" aside, they never had to stump up one red cent, did they?

Still, nice mix, the big "H" and Scarface!

Didn't Jesus pay his and Peter's temple tax with the coin found in the mouth of a fish?
