Go and see a doctor and they can advise you, when I was at uni they had free services, so if your in education they might be able to offer you some help.

What kind of help would you like? If you want to talk to someone about your feelings you could try a visit to your GP. There are a whole range of services that you can be referred to but they vary from area to area. My area has some excellent services because a high % of the local population need those services.

    Depression Alliance
    What we offer

Depression Alliance can assist people affected by depression.
For a full information pack please email your name and address to information@depressionalliance.org. The following are six of the many ways we can help:

    1. Local Support – Our national network of self-help groups enable people affected by depression to share experiences and coping strategies with others in similar situations.

    2. Publications – click here to find out more about our range of leaflets, posters, tapes and videos.

    3. Writing to someone who understands – we can put you in touch with someone through our penfriend scheme.

    4. Making your voice heard – We work with healthcare professionals to secure better service provision for people affected by depression and lobby government to influence policy making in this mental health field.

    5. Raising awareness – Informed by the experiences of people with depression, we raise awareness of the realities of the illness amongst the general public with a variety of influential campaigns throughout the year.

    6. Research – Depression Alliance works in partnership with universities, health professionals and other voluntary organisations to research the causes, treatments and instances of depression in the UK. We use the findings of our research to educate and inform health professionals, government, and the general public via the media.
