About 60,000 copies of the September issue of The Voice of Freedom were impounded after they arrived at Dover on Sunday, in a lorry from Slovakia.

So British that they have to import them in cheaply from eastern Europe ay? Hypocrites.

On its website, the party said none of its leadership believed the customs search was random.

"No one believes it was anything else other than a deliberate act of disruption from the very top of the Labour regime," it said.

Yep, Tony himself was running after the van making sure their newspaper doesnt get through he considers it so much of a threat.

If it was targeted, then why just this month, surely they would have done it before...

Id like to see the Police reasons before Id comment, are we saying that the BNP shouldnt be aloud to publish its own magazine, then were back to the human rights issue, if the BNP's mag then animal rights Mags as well, or just anything that Tony dosnt like.
Dont just pay lip service to democracy and freedom of speach the whole point is it has to count whan its something you dont like being stopped as opposed to only arguoing for freedom opf speach when its something you agree with, being stopped of banned.

Does anyone remember in the Early 90's when Homophobia was more aceptable than it is today, the police banning, and confiscating every copy of "Gay Times" because of an artical featuring Jarvis Cocker, with the headline COCKER, they banned it because it the word Cocker was "obscene"
(the point being that if it was NME or TIME magazine doing the same thing they wouldnt have banned it)

First they came for Gay TImes Mags, and I didnt speak out because I wasnt a reader of Gay TImes
Then they came for the BNP mags and I didnt speak out because I wasnt a reader of the BNP mags
Then they came for the Mags I read (newsweek, living Marxism, anything a bit lefty) and I couldnt speak out bacause the precident had already been set.

    What a load of rubbish.

The BNP are right to think it is a witch-hunt, because that is exactly what it is.

Still, all this does is make more people sympathise with the BNP, so I doubt they'll be genuinely moaning too much.

    Democracy. What's that again?

    Absolutely.

I'm sure that the BNP will avoid comment on the ethnicity of the Chief here in Kent though...

How the hell are they going to justify taking all the mags on an "off chance"?

Surely they only needed one to read if checking was the reason?

I despise these racist fuckwits and pity their tiny minds, but it's that thin end of the wedge again.

    Strong posibility.
    Democracy. What's that again?

That'd be 12 wolves and a sheep discussing what's for dinner.

censorship, plain and simple. Honestly if you're going to ban the publication of one extremist group, what's to stop you from banning another?

In the artical the police say

"to ascertain whether any offences have been committed by the possession and intended distribution of this publication".

shorly they should do this before seizing every publication
did they recieve a complaint, relating to this specific issue of the maqazine.

    What were their reasons,

It is not stupid and far fetched to say if they can get away with this with no questions and no public descent, then what next.

Thats the precident we all want set then is it, the police can confiscate every copy of a "subversive" or "violent" or "racist" publication with no court order no clear reasons, no explanation, no return of tha magazine if found to be legal and no compensation paid if it is proved in court to be "legal"

Yes we;d all chear that for the BNP, but what next

democracy is a big illusion. Democracy is enforced, as it has to be otherwise someone would change it. Soon as you enforce it you take away the choice.

So this is just part of hte system protecting itself from change. Get over it, of course they are targetting the BNP. The BNP are a bunch of racists, who oppose our democracy and would export nearly anyone who isn't white if they got in.

Strictly speaking the police don't appear to have followed procedure. They should impound copy if they believe a crime has been commited.

Then again one can hardly muster any sympathy for that bunch of racist fuckwits. Fuck 'em.

No, but the problem is that it is not just the BNP that are being fucked.

Where does it stop? The BNP paper? The Morning Star? Socialist Worker? The Guardian? Anything that attacks Blair.

This is how corrupt governments set precedents. Start with the social pariahs on one side, and nobody cares. Attack the other side, nobody cares. Attack the middle, and its too late.

We go down this route everytime something happens to the BNP or their members. Regardless of the wrongs of their political viewpoints, they still have as much right as you and I to voice them.

Just because we don't like what they say doesn't mean that we shouldn't fight for their right to say it. Remember the same law which restricts their speech will be used against yours...
