side pains...

Ok, so about 2 weeks before my period is due, i start to get randomly stabbing pains where my left ovary is. My mum says its probably cause im ovulating, but i get them for about a week, sometimes it makes me double over and gasp.
Also....on my right side, on my waist, i get randomly bad pains there all the time, like every few days.
Is the period 1 normal and what is the waist one? Any ideas?

    they dont sound normal to me, ive never heard of anyone i know having that! Get it checked out at your doctors, cos they'll know best!

    i suspected ovary cysts but im not sure....ive had terrible side pains before and when i went to the docs they didnt know what it was and asked me to go away and do a urine sample and come back if it persisted but it went for a while so i didn't, i might bring it up to my mum that im worried.
