hi guys, i just brought sims 2 and it said to download directx 9 which i did, but when i open the sims to play it says 'failed to find any DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adaptors in this system! Please make sure you have a DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adaptor and have installed the latest drivers rovided by the manufacturer. the application will now terminate'
if any one could help i will over the moon

    i dont know what graphics card i have how do i found out what graphics card i have and what drivers are needed for it?

    You could use a program called sisoft sandra to investigate, which you can download.

    Or you could try looking in control panel / system / hardware / device manager / display adaptor

    You need one of the following cards ( or better )


    ATI Radeon(TM) series (7000 or better)
    VE series (see note below)
    7000, 7200, 7500
    8500, All-In-Wonder 8500
    9000, 9200, 9500, 9600, 9700, 9800
    X300, X600, X800
