If Someone dies who's parents are still alive, but who has been married and divorced and is now engaged to someone else, isn't it the oldest child who is the next of kin?
Im under the impression that as soon as you marry, your parents are no longer your next of kin, it's you're husband/wife, but then if you divorce and dont get married again, even if you intend to at the time of death, it is your oldest child who is the next of kin? Even though your parents are still alive?
can someone confirm this for me please?

That doesn't clear it up, I know, but the link might help a bit
