Remind me again, aren't we supposed to live in a democracy?
We have free press being closed down. Very democratic.
We have MSPs defending the right to protest kicked out of parliament because their actions are "undemocratic". Which is a bit rich coming from the G8.
And to think people genuinely believe that a vote makes a difference.

what they done?
On the second issue, unsurprisingly, one can see how status-quo serving the BBC report is as it makes mere passing citation to the justifications given for the legitimate demonstrations of the 4 MSPs only to dwell more substantiviely on the pompous suggestions of those who utter contempt for the voice of the people against self-serving big money G8 interests. Seems even a supposedly public media outlet advocates "business as usual" as much so as its privately owned counterparts rather than decrying a the hypocrisy of those who seek to silence dissent whilst claiming to be representatives of "democracy" themselves.
Let's dispense with the political doublespeak and cut through to the real meanings intended by those who divest "democracy" of its legitimate meaning with every utterance of the word, shall we BBC? Neo-liberal, global-hegemonic G8 apologists who employ the term do so as veiled reference to the unfettered advancement (or "imposition by force" where necessary) of "capitalism" and the exploitative returns it promises them for their political service to its cause.
Get in the long queue with all the other mainstream media mouthpieces, BBC.

more fantastic news from these defenders of democracy
even though they already shut parliament square for 20mins when heil fuhrer blair arrives
:nervous:
What would it be like if it was one sided?
Just them, eh? So everyone who disagrees is just out to get the floppy eared, swivel-eyed nutjob then?
Good old BBC, state run TV at it's most lickspittle.
Oh, and the real crime of the guy who took £300,000 out is that we are very close to that banking collapse everyone thinks is so unlikely. The only thing that can shore the whole thing up is a move to electronic money - hence the ID cards and other draconian shite.
