Just a few questions that would help to enlighten me

- Is the pill free?
- How long does it take to become used to it??? I've just been reading about everyone bleeding everywhere for months and months and months! I always kinda assumed you took it and that was it - you were sorted.
- Do you have to make an appointment to go to the FPC?

I was gonna ask about smear tests but someone already posted about them earlier didn't they?

Can't think of any more questions atm but I'm sure I'll think of some soon.

Oh yeah - you know you get condoms that are like ribbed or freaky shapes (not really my area of expertise!) well, do they enhance pleasure like they're supposed to or what? And why do you get different flavours of condoms? It's not like you're gonna eat them or anything and why would a bloke wear a condom when he was being given a blowjob?

lol - is it obvious I'm not all that experienced?!!

i dont think so. the only experience i have with a clinic is the brook advisory one when my friend needed emergency contraception in the middle of london and we just turned up. i went to the doc for mine.

There's a risk of contracting an STD through oral sex, I guess that's why, I wouldn't know myself!

But but but do most blokes wear them when they're being given oral sex? I never thought they did. Wow, you can learn so much on here

Come to think of it, I don't think most do, otherwise you wouldn't have the spit/swallow choice would you?

    lol leeme lone turtle!

i would say that most blokes do not have any interactions with condoms *trying to avoid 6 foot condom mistake again lol* during oral sex.

but if they have an STD then you must.

Duno if anyone has asked this question before but you know that you can carry on taking the pill to stop your period for the month, ie not have the 7days without taking it. Well does it harm you in anyway by not having a period at all? Cos i was thinking about doing it when i go on hoilday. Duno how much sense i have just made!

high angel, i totally know what you mean. my aunt takes her pill constantly coz of some probs she was having, and never has a period. but dont do this!

i take 3 or sometimes 4 packs at once and then have a 7y day break. i got really bad period pain and other PMT symptoms... and i only see my bf every so often so i prefer not to be on at the time really!! and i contacted a family planning clinic and also NHS direct about this, after reading an article in the daily mail magazine about whether you could safely do this or not.. and they said you can. when i started taking the pill, my doc said that you COULD take 2 packs in a row, but not doing that more than once every 3 months. but its the common opinion that doctors take the pill constantly and just do without periods, unless they really want them. apparently the pill is only designed to be taken monthly in this pattern to simiulate the natural cycle, as some women dont like the idea of not having a period.

so id say that if you were gonna take 2 packs in a row for your holiday, that its okay.

Another pill question... i'm soon gonna have to start taking some drugs called ACE inhibitors for my kidneys, do many drugs interfere with how the pill works? I'm not on the pill yet, but would like to be soon, but my mum always comes to my appointments for kidneys, and don't think i could ask with her there.
    cheers babes,
    Cara

i dont know about those drugs cara, but i know if you take antibiotics you should always use another method for 7 days after you finish your antibiotic course.

The drugs you speak of are called acetylcholine esterase inhibitors. Basically, they make the nerves in the body (or in this case your kidneys) react more to electrical body signals. I dont believe the pill will affect the AChE drugs that you take, however, the pill itself is not all that great thing to take itself. It has many side effects including causing birth defects (if it fails to prevent pregnancy) and also to your body.
