Under 18s working hours

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
Right. I have a sunday job which usually lasts about 8 hours over the day. But for the past three weeks we've been working 10-12 hours. Which is crap, but the fulltimers have to deal with that every day.

But anyway. My friend who also works there says there is a law where under 18s can't work longer thant 9 hour shifts or something. Does anyone know about this, or have a link, cause I wanna leave at a reasonable time damn it!

I don't believe that is the case. There are laws regarding the working hours of children under the age of 16, as they are still legally required to be in full time education, but I don't believe there are any rights for older teens working.

You do, however, have the right to eleven hours rest in any 24.

I think you're allowed a longer break too
