in a appeal by convicted criminals, if i remember rightly they cant be declared innocent, just a unfair trial so theres insufficient evidence and are released
should that board i cant remember then name be able to declare a persons innocence if they win an appeal

AFAIK if a person is acquitted by a Court of Appeal then he is acquitted, and it is recorded as if he had been acquitted by Crown Court. If a person is not acquitted, but cannot be convicted due to failure of practice, then this is duly noted as such. It is not an acquittal.
A convicted criminal acquitted is still acquitted on appeal.
You see that's what I hate about lawyers. Double speak, or am I the only one who lost track halfway through
