Hi

I'm hoping to go visit the seaside this weekend, its easier for me to get to the east coast. The only places I know are Whitby, Skeggy and Scarborough. Anyone know any other nice east coastal places

Wheres your fav seaside place and why?

what sort of beach are you after?
Amusement arcades, scenic beaches, olde worlde fishermen type beaches, swimming beaches, sunbathing beaches, nudist beaches?
    Where are you travelling from?

Bridlington? It has a dinky little fair there... and it isn't far away from Whitby and Scarborough. I used to holiday in Scarborough as a kid at least twice a year and I loved Brid the most. There's Filey too... I'm sure thats on the beach.

    Aldeburgh or Southwold.
Theyre both in East Anglia, but lovely olde worlde beaches, with fishing boats etc and you can buy fresh fish, just caught from huts on the beach.

Had a nice weekend camping in Whitby Abbey pretending to be a viking years ago, though the seaside part wasn't that good.

Used to swim down in Southend a lot, not a bad beach for that part of the Uk.

Only really nice UK beaches I've come across were the west coast though.

I'm not a fan of the east coast apart from yorkshire up round whitby and there abouts. Theres Hunstanton further down south though but i think they are all a bit dull/samey/rubbish sea.
Devon has nice beaches though, even though it's not east coastal, erm if you want feel like your 'going somewhere' then the Isle of White is always good cause you get to go on the ferry and such things, and the beaches are nice there too.
