Recurring chesty cough

I get colds quite easily (I've still got a bit of one now, whch is my second since February) and whenever I gt a cold, I always get a soree throat, runny/blocked nose and a chesty cough. The sore throat and nose problems usually go away after just over a week, but I seem to have the cough for ages, which causes me to have a problem breathing and a painful chest after coughing. I keep taking medicine for this, which does nothing for me. So what do I now?
Beep boop. I'm a bot.

I'd go to the Doctor if you have a painful or persistant cough, you might have a chest infection-in that case cough medicine won't do anything. Hope you get better soon!
