umm... this is a genuine question...
what exactly is the attraction with pills? and when you guys use it as a blanket term, what are you referring too?
as a very occasional pot-partaker I am more than a little clueless....
Plus, what sort of effect do various diff. types typically have on first timers?

Pills isn't really a blanket term its just a different expression for ecstasy And you only really get one type, although as the active ingredient is a very complex compound called mdma, you do get variations which have differing effects but not too much deviation, i suppose you could liken it to hash and skunk, different but the same

As for the attraction i suggest you read kirk's 'what next' thread. They have many many positives also try http://www.ecstasy.org its a very good resource on everything connected to pills from risks to effects

Ummm...not entirely correct. Pills has come to be a blanket term for any tablet that will hopefully contain MDMA, but could in fact be MDEA, MDA or some other variation (which have similar, but differing effects. MDMA is very empathic, MDA is trippy etc. See here http://www.erowid.org/library/books_online/pihkal/pihkal.shtml )
In fact, due to the illegal nature of the drugs trade, pills can in fact contain anything from speed to DXM to 2CB or even no active ingredient. But most are some variation of an MDx type drug.
If drugs were legalised then you could be sure of what you were getting and be at less risk of coming a cropper.

Right. thankyou all very much for your useful and unbiased info. However, doubt I'll be joining the ranks of knowledgeable drugs posters due to general chicken-ness, which I doubt would be a particularly good state to sample the wares in anyway.

Toothpaste, on the other hand, is a different matter. Now this is completely my drug.
My favourite is blue gel. Colgate is too gritty in most of its manifestations. Tesco's own brand stripy one has an articfical aftertaste. theramed is too sweet... However, that pink hypermint one will blow your eyeballs out of their sockets.
I squeeze a blob onto the back of my hand and lick it off. I know it's bad for me, but anyone saying that in the drugs forum... welllll... yknow!
