shorthold tenancy agreements

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
i cant think where this would go, so its going here!

i signed a tenancy agreement for a 2 bedroom flat near uni, its for nearly a year. however i might be transferring uni's now, so i have the problem of this flat i have agree'd to pay rent for, as well as a deposit of £250

does anyone know if i can do anything about it? i have emailed the landlord people but still waiting for a reply, before anyone tells me to ask them!

i should imagine if you find someone else to take your place, then they wont be too bothered about tearing up the contract and doing a new one for the place and putting someone elses name on

Yeah, surely if you find a replacement person then the landlord will be ok with it. Tbh, as long as they get their money at the end of the day, they will be happy.

Depends on your contract, and if there's nothing in the contract it depends on how flexible your landlord is willing to be.
